Online copy and paste tool

Copying text is easy. Copying usable text is not. Pull a paragraph out of a PDF and you get a hard line break at the end of every printed line. Copy from an email and you inherit quote markers and double spaces. Lift a list out of a chat window and half of it arrives as blank lines. This page is a plain box that fixes those things before you paste the text where it is going.

It is deliberately not an editor. There is no formatting, no font picker and no document to manage — you paste, press one or two buttons, and copy. The counts in the top-right update as you type, which is the other reason people reach for a tool like this: knowing whether something fits in a 280-character field or a 2,000-word limit before you submit it.

Clean text in three steps

1. Paste your text

Use Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on a Mac) or the Paste button. Whatever formatting quirks came along with the copy — hard-wrapped lines, doubled spaces, stray blank lines — arrive intact, because nothing is altered until you press a clean-up button.

2. Clean it up

Trim lines strips the spaces at the start and end of each line.Remove blank lines closes up the gaps between paragraphs.Collapse spaces turns runs of spaces and tabs into a single space, without touching line breaks. Remove line breaks joins everything into one paragraph, for when the destination field does not want any structure at all. Each button can be pressed in any order, and each reports how many characters it removed.

3. Copy it back

Press Copy to put the cleaned text on your clipboard, ready to paste wherever it is going. Download saves it as a .txt file instead, andSelect all highlights the box if you would rather copy with Ctrl+C.

Pasting a job description into a form that rejects text with double line breaks. Cleaning up a quote pulled from an email thread before dropping it into a document. This is not a notepad, and not an editor

There is no formatting, no autosave and no history here on purpose — the moment you close the tab, the text is gone. Browser clipboard permissions

The Paste and Copy buttons use the browser's clipboard API, which is guarded. Chrome asks for permission the first time, Safari requires the click that triggers it, and Firefox does not let a page read your clipboard at all. If a button reports that access was blocked, the keyboard shortcuts still work everywhere — that is not something a page can override, and it is a reasonable thing for a browser to protect.
